We ask all visitors to Langdale to be kind and respectful of fellow visitors, staff and local communities. Some people will choose to continue to use face coverings and socially distance and we will support everyone making that choice; keeping you safe while making sure you have a fabulous break in the Lake District remains our priority.

 

At Brimstone we always put our guests first, so you can now take advantage of the reduction in VAT with cheaper stays as we have passed on the reduction to you. Book on the Flexible rate to stay before the 30th September 2021 or the Advance rate to stay any time.  All existing booking will reflect the prevailing rate.

Working together to help each other

We continue to work hard and have the safety and welfare of our guests, staff and the local community at the heart of everything we do.  Please take a look at our procedures for check-in and check-out, housekeeping, dining and how guests are able to enjoy themselves and get the most from their time with us.

1. Checking In and Checking Out

When checking in and checking out there will be a number of options for the way you can arrive, depart and access your accommodation to keep everyone safe and distanced set out below.

Checking in

Our team are immediately on hand to get you checked into your room with no need to visit a reception desk.

We appreciate that everything is a little different at the minute, but we don’t want to lose that personal touch we know our guests know and love.

Our team will continue to greet you from the door and escort you to your room where you will be provided keys sanitised for your safety.

Some people will choose to continue to use face coverings and we will support everyone making that choice, we urge everyone to keep a good social distance; keeping you safe while making sure you have a fabulous break in the Lake District remains our priority.

Check in information along with a few handy tips and pointers on some of our in room features will be provided through a virtual check in.

For everyone, there will be team members on hand across the site who’ll be more than happy to help you whenever you need it.

Checking out

All you need to do is say goodbye and start planning your next visit to the Lake District, give us a big wave and a shout out on your way out. If you have to pay for anything just call with the CSV number from the card you made the booking with and it’ll all be sorted.

Old school goodbyes are always available from a member of the team along with more hand sanitiser. The option to pay with cash will no longer be available.

2. Cleaning

Accommodation

All accommodation at Brimstone is cleaned to the highest possible standard.  Additional attention will be paid to certain areas to keep everyone safe.

Hand sanitiser will be in all accommodation and additional cleaning kits available for anyone that wants to have a go at being a Brimstone housekeeper.

We ask all guests where possible to keep their accommodation well ventilated and certainly leave the windows open when you depart.

Public Spaces

The cleaning of public spaces mainly takes place when you are asleep (or in bed at least) this will still happen, but you’ll also see more cleaners doing what they do best during the day. We’ll do this with discretion, but safety will be our priority.

We’ll also do our best not to spoil your experience at Langdale but for the foreseeable future additional cleaning during opening hours will be a thing we will have to embrace.

3. The Reading Room

A Reading Room offering will continue to be available with a few small changes to the food and beverage offering we previously had available.

4. Contactless Payment

Cash will no longer be accepted across the site including Wainwrights Inn. Guests staying on site will be able to charge to their room and pay on departure (see above) or use any form of contactless payment.

5.  Spa and Fitness & Leisure

Guests will need to book their access to the Spa and the treatments that are currently on offer, which are also limited.  However we’re confident that you’ll still feel pampered but safe at the same time.

Booking is recommended as we can not guarantee availability.

PLEASE NOTE: Langdale Fitness & Leisure Facilities are for the use of Langdale Estate residents only. Opening times may vary due to staffing.

6. Communications

We are pretty good with the elimination of paper at Langdale and this is a great time to go all the way. Before your stay all information will be sent by email at least twice.

7. Staff and Partners

Our team have all been trained in new ways of working in order to keep themselves and everyone who visits Langdale safe.

We’re all having our temperature checked before we even start work and we’re giving our teams the time to ask as many questions as possible so that they’re absolutely confident with our new workplace practices.

We’re working alongside a number of trusted partners such as Ecolab our chemical specialists who provide all our WHO recommended cleaning products which are used site-wide.  We’re also making sure that partners and suppliers Risk Assessments and practices dovetail with our own.

8. Cancellation Policy

Brimstone Hotel

At Brimstone we have always tried to be as fair as possible on each and every situation where someone needs to cancel a booking. Our best available rate can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to arrival. Where payment terms were that payment was made at the time of the booking we can move your booking to a new date as many times as necessary, not just now but any time in the future. Refunds can be given where any traveller is not able to travel due to government restrictions.

9. The Future

No one knows what the future holds ….it’s an age-old cliché, but seems to be more true than ever right now.  One thing is for certain, we will be here to offer the best (and safest) possible experience for you whilst you’re visiting the Lake District.
