At Brimstone Hotel
The government COVID-19 regulations are constantly changing and may affect what we are able to offer.
Keeping you, the team, and local communities safe remains our top priority while making sure everyone has a fantastic break in the Lake District. We are monitoring the changing government guidance and regulation and would ask that you must do the same and adhere to the rules that apply to you. Where any restriction on travel or overnight stays that applies to you is regulation we will not be able to accommodate your visit to Brimstone while the regulation is in place.
At Brimstone we always put our guests first, so you can now take advantage of the reduction in VAT with cheaper stays as we have passed on the reduction to you. Book on the Flexible rate to stay before the 31st March 2021 or the Advance rate to stay any time. All existing booking will reflect the prevailing rate.
Working together to help each other
We continue to work hard and have the safety and welfare of our guests, staff and the local community at the heart of everything we do. Following the very latest Government guidelines, we have implemented a range of new procedures for check-in and check-out, housekeeping, dining and how guests are able to enjoy themselves and get the most from their time with us.
1. Checking In and Checking Out
When checking in and checking out there will be a number of options for the way you can arrive, depart and access your accommodation to keep everyone safe and distanced set out below.
Our team are immediately on hand to get you checked into your room with no need to visit a reception desk.
We appreciate that everything is a little different at the minute, but we don’t want to lose that personal touch we know our guests know and love.
Our team will continue to greet you from the door and escort you in a socially distanced manor to your room where you will be provided keys sanitised for your safety.
As of the 8th of August it is now a requirement that you must wear a face covering in all public areas of the hotel, therefore we kindly ask that all guests unless medically exempt wear masks.
Check in information along with a few handy tips and pointers on some of our in room features will be provided through a virtual check in.
For everyone, there will be team members on hand across the site who’ll be more than happy to help you whenever you need it.
All you need to do is say goodbye and start planning your next visit to the Lake District, give us a big wave and a shout out on your way out. If you have to pay for anything just call with the CSV number from the card you made the booking with and it’ll all be sorted.
Old school goodbyes are always available from a member of the team along with more hand sanitiser. The option to pay with cash will no longer be available.
All accommodation at Brimstone is cleaned to the highest possible standard. Additional attention will be paid to certain areas to keep everyone safe.
Hand sanitiser will be in all accommodation and additional cleaning kits available for anyone that wants to have a go at being a Brimstone housekeeper.
We ask all guests where possible to keep their accommodation well ventilated and certainly leave the windows open when you depart.
The cleaning of public spaces mainly takes place when you are asleep (or in bed at least) this will still happen, but you’ll also see more cleaners doing what they do best during the day. We’ll do this with discretion, but safety will be our priority.
We’ll also do our best not to spoil your experience at Langdale but for the foreseeable future additional cleaning during opening hours will be a thing we will have to embrace.
3. The Reading Room
A Reading Room offering will continue to be available with a few small changes to the food and beverage offering we previously had available.
Whilst areas of seating within the reading will remain closed, all drinks will continue to be available for collection to be enjoyed within the room.
For details surrounding the snacks available please contact our reservations team for further details.
4 . The ARC'TERYX Bootroom
The Bootroom will be closed until further notice due to cleaning restrictions. We recommend that you bring suitable outdoor gear with you.
5. Contactless Payment
Cash will no longer be accepted across the site including Wainwrights Inn. Guests staying on site will be able to charge to their room and pay on departure (see above) or use any form of contactless payment.
6. Spa and Fitness & Leisure
Brimstone spa will open on Wednesday 5 August but in a limited way and only to Brimstone guests due to the current government restrictions on what we are allowed to offer and of course social distancing. Brimstone guests will need to book their access to the Spa and the treatments that are currently on offer, which are also limited. However we’re confident that you’ll still feel pampered but safe at the same time. Langdale Fitness & Leisure facilities are now open with restricted access and on a booking only system - see here for details
Booking is recommended as we can not guarantee availability
PLEASE NOTE: Langdale Fitness & Leisure Facilities are for the use of Langdale Estate residents only
7. Restaurants and Bars
Both Stove Restaurant and Wainwrights' Inn are open with reduced capacity to maintain social distancing and only offering table service, due to government restrictions.
PLEASE NOTE: Stove Restaurant is reserved for residents of the Langdale Estate only.
We would recommend guests continue to follow government guidance and continue to monitor details surrounding the newly introduced tier system to see how these changes may affect their booking.
8 . Communications
We are pretty good with the elimination of paper at Langdale and this is a great time to go all the way. Before your stay all information will be sent by email at least twice.
9 . Staff and Partners
Our team have all been trained in new ways of working in order to keep themselves and everyone who visits Langdale safe.
We’re all having our temperature checked before we even start work and we’re giving our teams the time to ask as many questions as possible so that they’re absolutely confident with our new workplace practices. There’s a lot to take in including one way-systems, PPE and social distancing but everyone is super keen to get back to working. All our Risk Assessments and training are in line with the most up to date government guidance.
We’re also working alongside a number of trusted partners such as Ecolab our chemical specialists who provide all our WHO recommended cleaning products which are used site-wide. We’re also making sure that partners and suppliers Risk Assessments and practices dovetail with our own.
10 . Cancellation Policy
At Brimstone we have always tried to be as fair as possible on each and every situation where someone needs to cancel a booking. Our best available rate can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to arrival. Where payment terms were that payment was made at the time of the booking we can move your booking to a new date as many times as necessary, not just now but any time in the future. Refunds can be given where any traveller is not able to travel due to government restrictions.
11 . The Future
No one knows what the future holds ….it’s an age-old cliché, but seems to be more true than ever right now. One thing is for certain, we will be here to offer the best (and safest) possible experience for you whilst you’re visiting the Lake District.
